FAMILY LAW
 

Ms. Walters represents parties in divorces, child custody modifications, child support actions, legitimations, minor guardianships in Probate Court, and in certain types of cases involving DFCS and foster care. She limits her practice to the six counties in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, including Muscogee, Harris, Marion, Chattahoochee, Talbot, and Taylor. She has experience in all facets of these matters including military matters associated with divorces, as those are often seen in this area due to proximity to Ft. Benning.

 

Ms. Walters also serves as a Guardian ad Litem in custody matters in this circuit. In these cases, she will investigate the claims of the parties, interviewing witnesses and the child, and advocates for what she believes is in the best interest of the child or children involved. In these matters she is not hired by one party, but is appointed by the Court as a representative and voice for a child.

 
CRIMINAL LAW 
 

Our office handles misdemeanor criminal charges in all of the six counties in our circuit. Examples of misdemeanor cases the office handles include simple battery, shoplifting, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and traffic offenses, including speeding tickets.
